Collecting plant specimens is an excellent way to study the flora of your study area. By collecting plants, you can create a hands-on "library" of plants to identify, compare and document. Many institutions collect enough plants to create a herbarium. The DC Herbarium houses over 57,000 plants specimens collected by many different botanists in the last 200 years.
