Shrubs to tall trees with bark rough.
Leaves ovate to suborbicular, lower surface appressed pubescent, apex rounded or sometimes retuse, base cuneate to rounded, and margins flat.
2n = 24 (Reported by Skottsberg (1953) for this variety, but the count should be reconfirmed)
