Note:
* The figures presented here refer only to those areas which cover 10 km or more and are in IUCN Management Categories IV. It is very important to note that, in some cases, figures include sites which are only partially protected. The combined area protected and percentage of country protected are summations of individual areas and do not take into account areas which may have overlapping boundaries. In some cases, therefore, the figures imply a greater area protected than is really the case. A further consideration is that many protected areas have been established primarily for their fauna and do not necessarily protect the best areas for plants.
