Siliquamomum Baill.

     Rhizomatous herbs. Leaves few. Inflorescence a lax raceme, terminal on the leafy shoot; bracts minute, flowers borne singly on the inflorescence axis; bracteole absent; flower color unknown; calyx tubular-campanulate, membranous, 3-dentate, split down one side; corolla tube as long as the lobes; lateral staminodes elliptic-obovate; labellum conspicuous and pendulous, elliptic-obovate with crenate margin; filament very short, each theca with a long-acuminate crest; ovary 3-locular. Capsule narrowly fusiform, more than 10 cm long, torulose, dehiscence unknown; seed with 2-lobed aril. (From Kubitzki, et al., p. 483)

Geographical Distribution:
     Its one species, S. tonkinense Baill., is found in north Vietnam.

Taxonomic Diversity:
     Only one species, S. tonkinense Baill.
