Zingiberales Research
The Order Zingiberales, previously called Scitamineae, consists of eight separate plant families and over 2000 species. This order is most closely related to the bromeliads (family Bromelicaceae). Most members of these eight families are native to tropical regions around the world and many are cultivated as ornamentals.
